NICE NG69 Eating disorders

Eating disorders: recognition and treatment (NICE guideline NG69)

NG69 replaced CG9 and is unambiguously psychotherapy-led: anorexia nervosa in adults is treated with an eating-disorder-focused psychological therapy (CBT-ED, MANTRA or SSCM) and in children and young people with family-based treatment; bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder start with guided self-help and step up to CBT-ED. Medication is not recommended as sole treatment for any eating disorder. The register trials below are grouped by the therapy each recommendation rests on.

This guideline cites 4 of the 62 landmark trials in our Psychiatry & psychotherapy register.
