TAVI PCI
Optimal Timing of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention — The TAVI PCI Trial
Patient / Population Intervention / Exposure Comparison Outcome
In 986 patients with severe aortic stenosis and coronary disease, PCI after TAVI was compared with PCI before TAVI on death, myocardial infarction, revascularisation, rehospitalisation or major bleeding at 1 year.
N
986
Design
prospective, international, multicentre (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland), open-label, 2-arm RCT; 1:1 PCI after TAVI vs PCI before TAVI (each within 1–45 days); non-inferiority; primary endpoint at 1 year, follow-up to 5 years
Endpoint
composite of all-cause death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, ischaemia-driven revascularisation, valve- or procedure-related rehospitalisation (including heart failure), or life-threatening/disabling or major bleeding at 1 year
