BPLTTC IPD meta-analysis
Blood Pressure Lowering Treatment Trialists' Collaboration — blood pressure-lowering treatment across the spectrum of cardiovascular risk: an individual participant data meta-analysis
Patient / Population Intervention / Exposure Comparison Outcome
In randomised participants across the spectrum of cardiovascular risk, blood-pressure-lowering treatment was compared with placebo or less intensive treatment on major cardiovascular events.

Design
Pre-specified one-stage individual participant data meta-analysis of randomised trials of pharmacological blood-pressure lowering (placebo-controlled, more- versus less-intensive, or drug-class comparisons; minimum 1,000 patient-years of follow-up per arm), with treatment effects stratified by baseline cardiovascular risk; collaboration protocol published in BMJ Open 2019 (Rahimi K et al.).
Endpoint
Major cardiovascular events (composite of coronary heart disease, stroke and heart failure) across strata of baseline cardiovascular risk
