KDIGO 2025 Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy (IgAN) and Immunoglobulin A Vasculitis (IgAV)

Published in September 2025, this is the first standalone KDIGO guideline for IgA nephropathy and IgA vasculitis, replacing the corresponding chapters of the 2021 glomerular-diseases guideline. It abandons the old 'optimise supportive care, then consider systemic steroids' sequence in favour of an early, risk-stratified use of disease-modifying therapy — targeted-release budesonide, dual endothelin/angiotensin-receptor antagonism and complement inhibition — layered on a supportive backbone that now explicitly includes an SGLT2 inhibitor.
