2024 ACC/AHA/AACVPR/APMA/ABC/SCAI/SVM/SVN/SVS/SIR/VESS Guideline for the Management of Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease
Where the ESC folds peripheral and aortic disease into a single 2024 document, the ACC/AHA guideline is confined to the lower limb and organises everything around four clinical subsets: asymptomatic disease, chronic symptomatic disease, chronic limb-threatening ischaemia and acute limb ischaemia. It endorses low-dose rivaroxaban plus aspirin after revascularisation on the strength of VOYAGER PAD, insists on structured exercise therapy before or alongside revascularisation for claudication, and — unlike its European counterpart — dedicates a formal recommendation set to foot care, wound prevention and multidisciplinary limb-preservation teams. The register's peripheral trials are grouped by question below.
This guideline cites 10 of the 199 landmark trials in our Cardiology register.
